U12 Youth: Berks & Bucks Youth Cup final

U12 Youth

Congratulations to our U12 Youth squad who have successfully navigated their way to the Berks & Bucks U12 Youth Cup final for the 2022/23 season.

Some emphatic wins from the team have seen them book their place in the final and we caught up with their manager, Wayne McKnight, to discuss the journey and how the squad are feeling.

How have you found the cup campaign this season?

It’s been a very enjoyable campaign so far, the Berks and Bucks cup was our first game of the season this year so was greatly anticipated by the boys and coaching team and each round has gone by very quickly with the final being in the diary for quite a while to look forward to. We have seen some fantastic performances with us scoring 36 goals and only conceding 2 goals along the way.

A highlight of the competition so far?

It has to be our away semi final, the boys were amazing and put in such a cool performance to win 5-0 away at AFC Newbury to get us to the final.

How are you and the squad feeling ahead of the final?

The squad are very excited on the prospect of playing a local derby against a very good Bracknell Town side, the boys last year tasted the feeling of enjoying and winning in a cup final and hope this is the first trophy we achieve this year and with it being at home it will be even more special with it being Non league day we hope to see as many people as we can attend to cheer both teams on. Myself and coaches Alex and Neil feel so proud of all the boys as their attitude and dedication to improve over the competition has been great to see and we hope they get the success they deserve.
