Evans on earth! K’s star bags hat-trick.
Ascot United crashed out of the Velocity League Cup on Tuesday evening as league-rivals Kingstonian went home with a 4-1 win.
It was always going to be a tough ask against a aide that named big-money signing Sam Evans in their line-up, and he wasted little time in getting on the scoresheet by putting the K’s ahead after just two minutes.
Eddie Simon doubled the lead just two minutes later before Evans completed his hat-trick with goals either side of half time.
TJ Mboge impressed for Ascot and bagged a consolation having earlier hit the bar.
It leaves Ascot with interest in one remaining cup competition this season when Wycombe Wanderers visit in the County Cup Quarter Final next month.
And it doesn’t get any easier for Ascot who next welcome league leaders Bognor Regis Town to The Racecourse on Saturday (3pm).
