[NON LEAGUE PAPER REPORT SUBMISSION]
Ascot United 1 – 2 Bognor Regis Town
Pitching In Isthmian League South Central Division
Reporter: Neal Jeffs
LEAGUE-leaders Bognor Regis Town scrapped to a 2-1 win over ten-man Ascot United. All the goals came in the first half and The Rocks took an early lead through Lennie Smith’s fine low strike into the left-hand corner from the edge of the area. Bognor hit the woodwork soon afterwards and Hugh Scott made a good save to deny Kaya Tshaka, but Ascot came into it and Andrio Brandao struck a post before Jaye Long equalised after his earlier effort was saved by Tommy Scott. However, Timi Abraham restored Bognor’s lead with a low shot before half time as Tshaka turned provider. In an otherwise stale second half, Scott saved well from Tshaka before saving Ethan Robb’s late penalty after Jacob Wilson had brought down Louie Williams; Wilson receiving his marching orders to compound his side’s misery.
