PSFs: Ascot 2-1 Windsor / Ladies Draw

#WeAreAscot.

Ascot United’s pre-season continued on Saturday with a 2-1 win over Windsor FC.

The Royalists were familiar opposition in 18/19 when Ascot did the double over them before recording a league cup triumph to make hit a hat-trick of wins, although the leagues’ boundary shifts led to them being separated last season.

Windsor took the lead on a hot afternoon – a trialist opening the scoring after 16 minutes – before Ian Davies levelled proceedings in the 32nd minute.

Ascot won it thirteen minutes from time when James Richardson scored from the spot.

Manager Jamie Tompkins will no doubt be satisfied by his squad’s depth having been without club captain Louis Bouwers, together with Dan Bailey, Mitch Gutteridge, Elliot Carey and Aiden Higgs.

Thame United are next up for Ascot in another closed-doors friendly at The Racecourse on Tuesday.

Meanwhile on Sunday Ascot United Ladies got their pre-season underway with a 2-2 draw against Hampshire outfit Bursledon FC. Image is from match courtesy of Neil Graham Photography.
