Ascot United’s pre-season continued on Tuesday as they entertained Fleet Town in a double header of two sixty-minute matches.
The first match saw both sides go in level after a thirty-minute first half, before Fleet struck first with 25-yard volley, only to be cancelled out by Harry Laflin’s spot kick after Ian Davies was fouled in the penalty area. Full time score: 1-1
The second match with a change in personnel was a totally different affair, illuminated by the visitors’ striker Taylor Morgan. First, he drilled home low past home ‘keeper Sam Hayes, before smacking an unstoppable rising effort into the top right early in the second half. And, he would slot a sublime effort home from just inside the penalty area to complete a well-deserved hat-trick ten minutes from time. Hayes would also make a couple of fine saves to keep the score down, including two at the death. Full time score: 0-3
