Ascot United will make the trip across the channel as they visit Newport Isle of Wight on Saturday 22nd of October in the First Round Proper of the FA Vase.

The Yellas will enter their twelth edition of the cup whilst Newport’s debut year was way back in 1976. The pair have faced each other previously back in 2012 when they saw out a 2-2 draw at Newport. Ascot got the better of Newport in the replay when they won 3-0 with goals from Jermaine Roach, Leon Yarnie and a penalty from Jesse Wilson.

Newport are currently fifth in Division One of the Wessex League whilst Ascot sit in third in the Premier Division North of Combined Counties League. Both sides aren’t shy of goals so it should be an exciting affair.

Fans travelling on the coach should be at the Racecourse for an 8:30 departure.

Up the Yellas!
