MIDWEEK ROUND UP AND PREVIEW (UPDATED)

#WeAreAscot

It’s a quick fire round up and preview this week, so here goes…

  • Ascot United Ladies lost the opening match of their SRWFL campaign last Sunday. Despite taking a two-goal lead and Sarah Leonard’s hat trick, The Yellawomen were beaten 4-3 by Abingdon United.
  • There was another hat-trick and better news for Ascot United U18 Youth as Alex Hall’s 12-minute treble set them on their way to victory at Frimley Green on Tuesday. Josh Nice’s side ultimately won in their opening league fixture 3-2.
  • Ascot United travel to Hengrove Athletic this weekend as their FA vase campaign begins, for details of how to get on the coach look here. Hengrove are a step-six side, currently struggling near the foot of the Toolstation Western League Division One. The winners of the tie will travel to Tadley Calleva, who enter at the 2nd qualifying round stage, on 25th September.
  • In other fixtures, in chronological order:
    • Ascot United Ladies are home this weekend when Woodley United visit The Racecourse in the SRWFL (Sunday 12th September, 2pm)
    • Ascot United U18 Youth will now face Clanfield ‘85 at home in the FA Youth Cup on Tuesday 14th September having seen off Holmer Green last week. Clanfield won at Cove and have a good pedigree in FA Youth Cup, so the game will be a tight affair.
    • Ascot United have drawn Windsor FC at home in the Berks and Bucks Cup. The match will be played on Tuesday 21st September (the first team are also at home on Saturday 18th September).
    • And finally, don’t forget to sponsor Neil Richards’ epic ride for charity, which starts tomorrow (Thursday). Good luck that man!!!
