Lyne and Samurai put to sword in PSF double

Ascot United’s pre-season began well on Saturday as their double-header yielded two victories.
At a near-deserted Racecourse – only permitted officials and photographers allowed access – Ian Davies scored the first goal of the afternoon against tenants Lyne FC when he bundled home around fifteen minutes into his side’s noon kick off. The Yellamen went on to win 2-1.

By mid-afternoon, manager Jamie Tompkins had waved goodbye to his lunchtime troops before completely different personnel arrived for the 3pm fixture, in line with strict health and safety measures. And, the Yellamen cruised to a 5-0 victory against London Samurai Rovers..

Ascot’s pre-season continues on Tuesday with another closed-doors friendly, and this time it will be Fleet Town who will provide the opposition for two sixty-minute games, each comprising two thirty-minute halves.
