LEADERS IN TOWN BEFORE WOMEN IN SEMI FINAL ACTION

Title-winning JPL U18’s open weekend with cup tie

It’s non-league day and leaders Farnham are in town for what promises to be a swashbuckling weekend in and around The Racecourse.

All you need to know about Saturday is on our twitter post here.

And if that’s not enough, we have ‘lite’ printed programmes to pick up on the gate for free, complementing our full online programme here, which includes features, photos and the usual musings.

Farnham will, undoubtedly, provide one of the sternest tests of the season for JT’s men having lost just twice in the league this season and having scored 97 goals – 23 more than their closest rivals.

But the Yellamen pushed them close in a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture, and buoyed by last weekend’s comprehensive win at Guernsey, the scene is set for a memorable affair as 4th host 1st. The game is also set to be The Non League Paper’s Isthmian South Central League match of the day, with extended coverage and photos in Sunday’s edition.

After that, the Yellawomen are in action on Sunday at The ‘Course, with AFC Portchester swooping in for a league cup semi final date. Andy Cox’s troops are sitting pretty at the top of the SWRFL Premier Division, and The Hampshire visitors – 4th in the same league with games in hand – will surely have something to say in attempting to stop the hosts’ march towards an unprecedented double. As per the above, we have a matchday programme for that one too!

But the weekend starts on Saturday morning when Stuart Connor’s title winning JPL U18’s entertain Millwall in the league cup (11am); his side having wrapped up the Junior Premier League last Saturday with a thumping 9-0 win over Aldershot.

Back to the Isthmian League, and after Binfield host Ashford on Friday, there are some tasty other ties with Hartley Wintney facing Raynes Park Vale and Kingstonian entertaining Hanworth Villa as several of the chasers go head to head.

You’re up to date; let’s go!
