Ascot United Ladies and Ladies Reserves completed a perfect weekend for the Senior sides as both won their matches on Sunday, backing up the Men’s 2-1 win at Wembley FC on Saturday.
It wasn’t plain-sailing for the First Team who were 1-0 down at the break at Winchester City Flyers, but a galvanised Yellawomen emerged for the second half and drew level courtesy of Laura Sparks’ fantastic free kick, which is currently doing the rounds on social media.
And, that paved the way for the comeback which was completed by player-coach Alix Todd’s brace; 3-1 the final score as The Yellawomen consolidated 4th place.
Elsewhere, The Reserves extended their winning run with a 4-0 win over Larkspur Rovers at Royal Holloway. Courtney Gibbons, Darcey Young and substitute Andreia Mendes (2) were all on target as John Swallow’s side made it 11 wins from 11 in the Thames Valley League.
