As you’re aware, Neil Richards asked to take a step back from some aspects of his role last season… to help facilitate that we appointed Tom Howland to the role as Director of Football for Junior boys sitting alongside Donna Wilson heading up the girls/womens section. That transition has worked well, and we are grateful to Tom and Donna filling these important volunteer roles.
Neil would now like to completely relinquish his formal responsibilities as Director of Football… I completely understand and respect his decision, especially with his focus being on his new job and rightly so. Neil has agreed to stay on the Board in an advisory capacity which I’m very grateful for, so his input to the club will still be there.
I don’t need to tell anyone what an enormous contribution Neil has made to the club over so many years in so many different roles – from setting up the Soccer School to First Team Manager and most recently Director of Football, he is and will remain Mr Ascot Utd… thank you Neil for all your hard work and dedication, and enjoy the “retirement”.
