UPDATED: HANWORTH PREVIEW AND PROGRAMME

#WeAreAscot.

***Ascot United will play their historic Berks and Bucks Senor Cup final on Saturday 7th May.*** More details here on twitter.

Before that, there is a league campaign to complete with four successive home matches, beginning with the visit of champions Hanworth Villa tonight (Tuesday), here is the online matchday programme.

The Villains have simply run away with the league having won 28 and drawn 3 of 31 league games; 24 points clear of 2nd-placed Southall. And even more incredibly, the 3 games where they dropped points included their opening 2 league games (versus Burnham and Edgware) and then a goalless draw at Wokingham and Emmbrook in October. Most recently they haven’t conceded a goal in 5 matches.

But as manager Jamie Tompkins pointed out in his programme notes, The Yellamen are also in good form with just 2 defeats in 17 games, and although a barren patch before their county cup semi final win all-but-ended their chances of finishing 2nd in the league (barring an unlikely capitulation of Southall in their run-in), they now have an outside chance of 3rd place should they win their remaining games; 2 of them against their nearest challengers in Abbey Rangers and Egham Town. Egham and Southall meet in one of Tuesday night’s other games.

Stay tuned to Twitter for match reporting, and a brief summary of the game will appear here on Wednesday morning.
