ASCOT WARRIORS HOST FC BRACKNELL IN SEASON-OPENER

#WeAreAscot.

Ascot United Warriors Mixed Ability Team played their first competitive match of the season against FC Bracknell on Sunday morning.

In front of an enthusiastic Racecourse crowd, the two sides played three ten-minute matches ahead of a full-team penalty shoot-out.

In the opening game, the visitors showed their strength and rallied to victory after CJ had given The Warriors the lead with the goal of the day – a thumping left-footed drive across the ‘keeper and into the right hand corner from a narrow angle; what a strike!

The second game was closer and the third even more so, but a powerful FC Bracknell held on for a trio of wins.

However, Ascot had the better of a high-quality penalty shoot-out to conclude the contest – including both some fantastic strikes and equally good saves – on their way to victory.

Most importantly, the games was played in fantastic spirit with plenty of smiles, and incredible support from the Watching Saints Pavilion terrace.

Ascot United are proudly sponsored by our fabulous landlords, Ascot Racecourse, and are affiliated with Special Olympics GB.
