Ascot United welcome Sutton Common Rovers to The Racecourse this weekend, hunting for a third win on the spin. After a perfect Bank Holiday weekend and two wins over Ashford Town and Binfield, The Commoners arrive with an almost identical record to Ascot having taken four points from three games and a goal difference of zero; only being above The Yellas in the league table by virtue of scoring and conceding one more goal.
This weekend’s matchday programme includes the extensive scribblings of Simon, plus JT weighs in with his thoughts and a nod to his opposition manager. There is commitment and long service, but even George Lock with over 260 appearance for Ascot was born almost a decade after Darren Salmon first took the reins at SCR! Also look out for photos, Non League Paper column and another quiz – this time test your knowledge on Ascot players past and present with a crossword (being an online programme you’ll need to be creative to fill it in!). The programme is viewable/downloadable here.
Attention then turns to Ascot United Women’s league opener on Sunday afternoon versus Woodley United (Racecourse, 2pm) ahead of a busy week at the Racecourse with Bracknell Town U18’s visiting in the FA Youth Cup on Tuesday night and Merstham’s FA Trophy visit being moved forward to Friday evening.
