No joy for overpowered visitors in 4-0 defeat
Leatherhead swept past Ascot United with ease on the way to a comfortable victory at Fetcham Grove on Satruday.
The Tanners took a 14th minute lead through Jacob Breckon’s thumping effort straight down the middle, before Jordan Gallagher lifted home a second goal after the unmarked Breckon had chested the ball into his path from Mark Waters’ cross. Hogan then tapped home number three in the 28th minute after Breckon’s shot came back off a post, whereas Ascot were unable to threaten until ‘keeper Rileigh Hebditch’s full-stretch save denied Luis Le-Paih shortly before half time.
The home side eased back after the break but still added a fourth through Breckon’s tap-in, with Ascot seeing Tyrese Osbourne drag wide and Hebditch saving from Lucias Vine in their own chances late-on.
The Yellamen drop to 17th, two places and two poiints above the bottomfour.
