Ascot Diamonds Girls U14 secured a valuable point against a very well organised Gerrards Cross to maintain the edge in the league title hunt with 5 games to go.
Ascot Diamonds were off to early flyer thanks to goals from Aariyah Sharma and Macy Sealy before Gerrards Cross slowly fought thier way back into the game getting a goal back before half time and grabbinbg an equaliser early in the second half.
It was a hugely competitive game at Farnham Playing Fields with neither side looking to take a step back and the draw was perhaps a fair result in the end
As the supporters left the ground, word started flying around via whatsapp that the Rangers v Panthers game was not actually a draw as was first reported, but the unstoppable Rangers had actually lost 1 Nil to the Panthers. What a result that was which means the Diamonds are still in with the edge for the title race.
This was the 11th unbeaten game for the Diamonds and how important today’s result would be, makes for an interesting and exciting run in for the rest of the season as the Diamonds also now face Wargrave Warriors Divison 1 side in the semi finals of the Cup next weekend
