Ascot United FC Launches New Comets Programme for Children Aged 5–11
Ascot United FC is proud to announce the launch of our brand new Comets Programme, delivered in partnership with the FA and Special Olympics, aimed at children aged 5–11 with learning difficulties.
Following the continued success of our Warriors Programme for adults (18+), the Comets Programme represents an exciting next step in our club’s journey to provide inclusive football opportunities for players of all ages and abilities.
The Comets Programme is a pan-ability football session, designed to be fun, supportive and confidence-building. We welcome children with learning difficulties and can also accommodate physical disabilities, provided participants are able to wear moulded-stud football boots and move independently on the pitch.
Sessions will focus on:
- Enjoyment and love of the game
- Building confidence and social skills
- Teamwork and basic football skills
- A positive, inclusive environment for every child
For safeguarding and support purposes, parents or carers are required to remain on site at all times during sessions.
Programme details:
- Launch date: Sunday 1st March
- Time: 5.00pm – 6.30pm
- Location: Ascot United FC, Racecourse Ground, Winkfield Road, Ascot, SL5 7LJ
- When: Weekly sessions during school term time
