Ascot United bid for a sixth consecutive win this weekend when they visit St Panteleimon in the Combined Counties Premier Division North (Saturday, 3pm).
The match sees The Yellamen make the 90-mile round trip to Enfield, home of the Saints, (Donkey Lane, off Carterhatch Lane, Enfield Town, Enfield, EN 1 3PL) also looking to complete a league double having won the reverse fixture 3-1 in November; Harry Laflin (2) and Taylor Morgan on target.
Saints had enjoyed a decent start to the season, but an indifferent run of form has seen them slip to 8th in the league having won just one of their last eight games since our prior meeting – and most disappointingly for them they have slumped to defeats against strugglers Holyport (last weekend) and Tadley Calleva as well as drawing with CB Hounslow.

Ascot United have also confirmed that the County Cup Quarter Final at Didcot Town will be played on Tuesday 22nd February, 7.45pm.
On Sunday, Ascot United Ladies have the chance to leapfrog into the top three of the Southern Region Women’s Football League if they can beat visitors Abingdon Town (2pm). It won’t be easy – the visitors are 3rd having lost just 2 league games all season – and beat Ascot 2-0 in November’s reverse fixture. Town’s local rivals Abingdon United entertain 5th-placed Eastleigh in the day’s only other league fixture with Eastleigh themselves looking to leapfrog Ascot.
Also, the table-topping Ladies Reserves head to Abbey Rangers Reserves (3rd place) on Sunday as they look to move one win closer to the league title. The Reserves are unbeaten since December 2020 and have won 27 consecutive matches in all competitions.
Finally, look out for the big Allied U18’s six-pointer next Tuesday (8th) February . Josh Nice’s 2nd-placed Young Yellamen entertain leaders Westfield and victory for would see them leapfrog the Woking-based side with just two league games remaining, table here . And, with those two games (both away) against Virginia Water (5th place) and strugglers Fleet Spurs (bottom), the destination of the title could steer very much towards The Racecourse with victory next week.
