Ascot face an early top of the table encounter on Saturday 17th of September when they travel to Wembley FC (Vale Farm, HA0 3HG) for a 3pm kick off in the Premier Division North of the Combined Counties Football League.

The third-placed hosts would leapfrog second-placed Ascot with a win, but either side could go top if leaders, London Lions, slip up at fifth-placed Harefield United.

Wembley’s last outing was a 1-0 home league cup defeat against lower-tier Rayners Lane, although their excellent league form, four wins and 1 loss in five games, put them in a strong position having only lost at the current league leaders (0-2).

Last season’s games included an infamous home abandonment with the scores at 1-1 (result stood) – played just shy of one year ago on 18th September 2021 – before Taylor Morgan and the exceptional Dan Bailey were on target as the Yellas won the reverse fixture in January 2-1.

Also of note, on Sunday afternoon, Ascot United Women are in Berks and Bucks Senior Cup action when they entertain Maidenhead United at the Racecourse for a 2pm kick off.

Match report to follow.

Up the Yellas!
