Report

That’s entertainment

Another classic Legends vs Icons match. Very similar teams to the pre-season version and a totally different result with the Icons coming from 2-1 down to win 9-3. Last time the Legends came from 2-0 down to win 8-2. No idea what this tells us other than momentum might play a role in sport.

Great to be back out on the pitch playing again. Goals galore and tired legs and minds towards the end. Too many to talk about so sorry if your excellent goal has not been mentioned. Things that may have been memorable.

Doug making his debut on the new pitch. So close to 100% pass completion rate

Woody scores his first goal for the Vets. Striding out of central defence and a 1-2 with Tim on edge of box (his name is Rio and he….)

Jez “only 1 eh Woody” bags 4 great finishes including the complete hat-trick

Abbas scores from a corner

Ben Standing nicks a goal in the last minute and no-one realises the importance of the goal – aggregate score 12-11 to the Legends. Too tired to remember or to celebrate.

Great fun and well played to all and well organised by the young managers

The last time they ever spoke to each other
