Road trips for JT and AC’s troops.
Ascot United head to Harrow for a league encounter at Rayners Lane on Saturday (3pm). The Yellamen saw their play-off zone advantage trimmed in last weekend’s defeat against Hanworth Villa, but still sit 7 points clear of sixth-place, albeit having played one additional game. Last weekend’s results weren’t tragic – Uxbridge, Kingstonian and Hayes/Yeading all drew – but with six points separating third and ninth – JT’s troops will e looking for a return to winning ways.
The Lane have one of the best home records in the division with seven wins, three draws and just three defeats on their own artificial turf, and come into the game with eight points from their last six outings.
Saturday’s programme includes some proverbial six-pointers as Hanworth Villa (6th) entertain leaders Farnham and Hartley Wintney (5th) welcoming Uxbridge (4th). Kingstonian (2nd) will likely retain their spot on the road at strugglers South Park, whereas Leatherhead and Moneyfields both have games they will be confident of winning to keep their own play-off aspirations alive.

On Sunday – weather permitting – leaders Ascot United Women make the short trip to Bulmershe Pavilion to face 5th-placed Woodley United (2pm). AC’s side have already beaten Woodley three times this season, and a win would extend their lead at the top to eleven points on a day where the only other league game is between bottom side Badshot Lea and fourth-placed Oxford City; cup action taking precedence for the other challengers.
The current weather forecast shows rain commencing around kick-off after a relatively dry build-up, so fingers crossed!
Reports to follow.
