A Message of Thanks to Rob Jones

#WeAreAscot.

After many years of dedicated service to the club, our Chairman, Rob Jones, has decided to step down from his role.

Following his recent retirement after a long and distinguished career in education, including leading a large secondary school, Rob has chosen to focus on enjoying retirement, spending more time with family and taking the opportunity to travel.

Rob’s contribution to the club over many years has been immense. He has served in a variety of roles, including coach, age group coordinator, Child Welfare Officer, and most recently as Chairman. Throughout that time, he has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to supporting players, volunteers and fellow committee members, helping to shape the club into the strong community it is today.

Many people across the club have benefited from Rob’s guidance, encouragement and leadership. His dedication and willingness to give up countless hours of his time have had a lasting impact on generations of players and families.

As Chairman, Rob’s influence has been particularly significant over the last season. Under his stewardship, the club implemented a number of important changes aimed at reducing costs and improving efficiency, helping to strengthen the club’s financial position and ensure its long-term sustainability. These changes have provided a solid foundation for the future and will benefit the club for years to come.

On behalf of everyone at the club, we would like to thank Rob for his outstanding service, commitment and leadership. His contribution has been invaluable, and he leaves the role with the gratitude and respect of the entire club.

As Rob steps down, we are delighted to announce that Dan Birchmore will be taking over as Chairman.

Dan is well known throughout the club, having served in a number of committee roles over the years, including Secretary and, most recently, Vice Chairman. Over the past year, Dan has worked closely alongside Rob, supporting the committee and helping drive a number of the initiatives that have strengthened the club both on and off the field.

Having already played an active role in the club’s leadership and development, Dan is well placed to continue the progress made in recent seasons. He is committed to building on the strong foundations established by Rob and the committee, ensuring the club remains sustainable, welcoming and focused on providing the very best experience for all players, coaches, volunteers and families.

Please join us in thanking Rob Jones for everything he has done for the club and wishing him a long, happy and well-deserved retirement filled with travel, relaxation and new adventures.
