UPDATED: YELLAMEN SEEK SUPER SIX AGAINST NGU BEFORE LADIES FACE LEADERS / MATCHDAY PROGRAMME

#WeAreAscot.

Ascot United are looking to extend their winning streak to six matches when North Greenford United visit The Racecourse on Saturday (3pm). The Yellamen have beaten Hengrove, Windsor, Tadley, Burnham and Edgware (i.e. excluding the Wembley match abandoned at 1-1) – scoring 18 goals in the process – as their momentum grows following FA Cup defeat at Hythe in early September.

The visitors are themselves no Scrooges in front of goal, having put 5 past Dunstable in the FA Cup, 6 past Southall, 8 past Tadley and 5 past Burnham last weekend; consequently averaging three goals per game in the league. Fifth in the table (P10, W5, D2, L3), they will arrive looking to dent The Yellamen’s charge on a day when all teams are in league action. League leaders Southall (table here) entertain surprise-package Egham in 6th, unbeaten 2nd-placed Hanworth Villa are favourites to maintain the pressure against Reading City (12th), whereas St Panteleimon and Abbey Rangers in 3rd and 4th respectively also have easy-looking games:

The matchday programme, which includes Jamie’s and Simon’s thoughts, plus photos form Robert Mack and Neil Graham, is online to download for free here. And, as ever, remember the boring bit about The Racecourse being a cashless site so bring your plastic not your pennies!

On Sunday, there is a big test for Ascot United Ladies as they welcome league leaders Moneyfields (P4, W4) to the Racecourse (2pm) in the SRWFL, whereas the Ladies Reserves head to Hillingdon Abbots in the TVL3E in search of their seventeenth consecutive victory.

A reminder there is no midweek match next week and then we head to Windsor FC on Saturday 16th October (COCO Premier North).
