Langley v Ascot United Preview

Louis Bouwers scores the winning penalty in the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup against Wycombe Wanderers to secure a place in the final.

Ascot United welcome Langley to The Racecourse on Tuesday 6th of September in a Berks and Bucks Senior Cup First Round Qualifying (7.45pm).

The game is actually Langley’s home tie – albeit reversed due to their Arbour Park ground being unavailable – and it is an intriguing affair.

Langley are currently in good form in Division one with five wins and a draw from six games to leave them fourth, but their most eye catching result was a 6-1 home thrashing of Chalfont St Peter in the FA Vase a week-and-a-half ago. And, it’s not the first time these two sides have met – they locked horns in the Hellenic League Floodlit Cup on 5th February 2019 when four of the current squad – George Lock, Usman Lalustani, Elliot Carey and Dan Price were all on target in a 5-0 win; Luqman Kassim being the other scorer.

The competition is of course fresh in the minds of the Ascot faithful; four months to the day was their cup final date with Reading FC, and now they find themselves on the glory trail once again in the early rounds of this season’s competition – navigate your way through the waters of the county FA’s website with the fixture list starting here.

As it is Langley’s home tie we’ve not produced an online programme, but reporting will follow as normal after the game.

Ascot will then resume their league programme with the visit of Hilltop next weekend.
