Ascot United Ladies lost their opening league fixture of the season despite staging a late onslaught on the Woodley goal. The Yellawomen were on top for long spells but were disappointed to go a goal down ten minutes after the interval when they conceded from a set-piece. Darrel Evans’ side then pushed forwards, supported by most of the 85-strong crowd, and hit the crossbar and saw a number of late chances saved but it sadly wasn’t to be.
