Ninety seconds in, the hosts opened the scoring writes reporter William Powell. A speculative long range volley deflected off South Park (Reigate) number 9 Sam King’s back and nestled perfectly into the opposite corner of the direction of the original strike. There was not much action for the remainder of the half, both sides controlled the ball when in possession but only the odd half chance presented itself for either team’s attack.

HT- South Park (Reigate) 1-0 Yellas

Ascot started the second half positively but were hit with a sucker punch early doors. Deondre Date controlled the ball from a corner and emphatically fired past Hugo Sobte. The Yellamen pleaded with the referee for a handball which they felt was clear but the referee stuck with his decision leaving work to do for the Yellas.

Sean McCormack then pulled a goal back for Ascot in the 63rd minute; after being played down the right wing, McCormack smashed his spectacular effort off the inside of the post and past a helpless Danny Bracken between the South Park sticks.

The Yellas continued to push for an equaliser, inspired by some Sean McCormack brilliance. McCormack nearly doubled his tally for the evening when Brendan Matthew drilled a cross into the six yard box, his effort narrowly dipped over the crossbar.

As chances began to flow, South Park scored again. Deondre Date with some dazzling footwork and blistering pace managed to dart through the Ascot back line and hammer his long range effort beautifully into the top corner.

Only eight minutes later, South Park put the game to bed for certain. Marco Haigh weaved his way past two defenders before placing a fantastic strike into the bottom corner.
