Frimley Lodge Park, Surrey was the perfect setting for the Royals to take on a tough tackling Mytchett side in a pre-Xmas top of the table clash.
It was the Royals who scored first having made a quick break from a Mytchett free-kick. After some great passing to move up the field, Elias Flo knocked a lovely through ball for Louis Doogan to score his first of the game.
Royals won a free-kick on the left and with the early winter sun shining in the Mytchett Goalkeepers eyes, Louis Doogan’s precision ball found the top right hand corner for his second goal.
Shortly after the half-time break, Mytchett found the net after their striker was put through 1 on 1 with Royals keeper Lewis Jones. A calm finish saw the ball put to the keepers left and into the net. There was a feeling amongst the Mytchett squad that this game had more goals in it and they could get back in it.
There were more goals, unfortunately for Mytchett the first of them came for the Royals when Louis Doogan broke down the left and put the ball across the 6 yard area for Isaac Thornton to tap it home and make it 3-1.
Mytchett found the net again late on when play seemed to stop as there was a coming together of players. There was no whistle from the referee and play continued with Mytchett’s front man taking a shot and finding the net.
