V Hearts of Tedlothiam (Friendly)

It was a friendly game scheduled to replace a postponed cup fixture and Ascot Diamonds turned up with a squad of 14 to take on the Div 4 side.

Hearts were definitely not in the mood to watch Ascot dictate play and began to make a number of lethal runs forward testing the defence of Pippa, Towani and Phoebe and it was in the 5th minute of play that the Hearts left wing drove forward and sliced a true ball to the striker who went even further right in one movement and split open Ascot to hammer past Hollie to make 1 NIL. A goal a
bit against the run of play but certainly well worked and taken by Hearts.

The pace was definitely picking up as on the 34th minute Phoebe playing a blinder at left back refused to be bullied by the Hearts striker and calmly driblled past one, make it two players before the third midfielder got a foot in to slow progress but Phoebe not to be denied won the ball back drve forward again and delivered a nest pass into the box which Amira parried into the path of the
now menacing Kyla who needed no second invitation to score in the far corner. Great goal 1- 1 and back on level terms

It was however one minute later in the 35th minute that the hard working Emma won a heavy mid field tackle and calmly passed the ball forward for Kyla to again pick up and this time lay it off in the box for Amira to slip her defender and smash the ball past the keep to make it 2-1 to Ascot. Another fine combination from these two as the half time whistle went.

On the 51st minute Hearts strung together three quick passes starting from the halfway inside the Ascot half right into the box before slotting in a fine goal that poor Hollie had no chance of saving, it was fine team goal for them.

Hearts continued to counter attack Ascot with every opportunity and on the 63rd minute, they raced upfield on the back of one of those counter attacks and with Hollie our keeper for the day it was a good finish from hearts to take the lead again 3-2.

In the 70th plus 1 minute of extra time Hearts raced up field and put together three rapid passes before the Hearts left winger lashed a ball across the face of the goal eluding everyone but the Hearts right winder sliding in at the far post to bury the ball in the net 4-2 to Hearts and that was an incredibly well worked goal for them.

4-2 to Hearts of Teddlothian who are no mugs and had a point to prove.
