V Goring Robins (Cup Match)
On an overcast morning and an early 9 am kickoff Ascot faced Goring second time for the season but this time in the cup
Both teams observed a minute’s silence for Remembrance Day before kicking off at 9.04 am
In the 5th minute Aariyah with very quick feet picked up a precision pass from Tabitha and glided past one, no make that two Goring defenders before Sliding the ball into the box which striker Amira needed no second invitation to race into the centre of the box to calmly place the ball into the net past the bemused Goring keeper who was wondering why her defenders were admiring the link up play.
1 NIL to Ascot thanks to an Aariyah assist her first of the season and Amira’s Goal her 3rd of the season
In the 13th minute another Ascot attack on the Goring goal saw Phoebe steer a ball forward and Hollie L always dangerous on the wing collected the ball and skipped past the mid field challenge with ease before floating a delivery into the box where Eva had a shot at goal which was parried away by the keeper for the Goring defence to clear the ball but only as far as the hardworking Kitty who was making some intelligent runs from the first whistle and breaking up any ideas Goring had of coming through the middle where she calmly controlled the ball looked left and right and then and then from a few yards outside the box, Kitty calmly shot the ball into the top corner of the Goring goal.
2 NIL to Ascot thanks to a sublime finish from Kitty her 1st goal of the season
One minute later in the 15th, Holly M won a ball on the half way line, and raced down the right wing before cutting back in to lay off the ball to Tabitha the mid field wizard who again walked through two oncoming challenges before perfectly weighting a pass into the box for none other than Amira ”Haaland” to collect turn and this time smash the ball into the net from close range.
3 NIL to Ascot thanks to Amira’s second goal and Tabitha’s assist. Make no mistake it was a great strike with two defenders challenging Amira who was prepared to tackle anybody in the box for the ball regardless of shirt colour. This was Amira’s 4th goal of the season and Tabitha’s first assist
In the 22nd minute following another attempt to attack Ascot which was well defended by Pippa shadowing the ball long enough to allow Hanna to send the ball flying down field, Holly again dribbled a player on the line before crossing and Eva pounced on the ball and saw her shot blocked by a Goring defender and ball bounced around the box for a few seconds before Amira “Haaland” always willing to put in a shift saw the ball land in her path and she smashed it towards the goal again only for this time the Goring keeper to parry the ball right back out to Amira to have another go and this time Amira punched it past the keeper to make it 4 NIL to Ascot and complete what was a sensational 22 minute hat trick and her 5th goal of the season.
In the 35th minute Eva put in a crisp pass to Kyla who was drove into the box and shot from close range only to see the ball smash into the Goring keeper who was really not only working overtime, but had started another shift by this stage, and as the ball rebounded off the keeper back into the centre of the box who else was waiting to put butter on the warm toast but Amira “Haaland” to bury her 4th remarkable goal to make it 5 NIL to Ascot, and Amira’s 6th goal of the season.

And in the 36th minute Alexa determined to create havoc on the left took on two challengers and whipped in a perfect cross which landed on the plate of Amira “Haaland” who decided to put some marmalade on top the butter for the warm toast, bang 6 NIL to Ascot and Amira was having the game of her life making it a 5th sensational goal early in the second half. It was Amira’s 7th goal of the season and Alexa’s first assist.
In the 37th minute Ascot saw Pippa rob the Goring midfielder of the ball high up the pitch and for Eva to drive forward and play a ball forward for the menacing Macy on the right wing to charge past the defender, and deliver a very cool, calm finish into the far post with the keeper, defenders and team mates all admiring the finish.
7 NIL to the now rampant Ascot with a shape that was starting to look like 3 strikers, 2 wingers, 2 midfielders, and 3 at the back Goal to Macy her first of the season and assist to Eva her first of the season
In the 49th minute Ascot strung together another impressive move as Hollie L glided down the wing and slid a ball through for Macy to collect, dribble and make a pass to Kyla who was already waiting with knife and fork in hand to smash the ball past the keeper from inside the box. 8 NIL to Ascot and things were really starting to look dismal for Goring with Ascot now shifting to all out attack with goals likely to come from anywhere.
Kyla with the goal her second of the season and Macy with the assist her 3rd of the season in a move started by Hollie.
In the 56th minute Ascot now playing with two left wings in Holly drifting into the centre and Alexa advanced from left midfield won a corner which was taken by Alexa. The delivery was pure poetry, and she put the ball into the box on a silver platter with a glistening food cover for the dangerous Hollie who was creating havoc in the mid field to control expertly with her first touch and place the ball in the net.

In the 63rd minute Kitty who had been working very hard all game in the midfield distributing the ball dribbled past a strong challenge and whipped the ball into the area for Kyla ever ready to control, swerve and make a cool finish just to the right of the keeper to make it 10 NIL to Ascot
It was a wonderful assist from Kitty her first of the season to add to her first half goal and a very determined finish from Kyla for her 3rd goal of the season.
In the 67th minute Aariyah so admirable in defence then switched a long pass from left back to deep into the Goring half where Hollie nimble and quick drifted past a Goring defender before curling a left foot shot into the nets with the keeper rooted to the spot.
11 NIL to Ascot thanks to superb visionary long ball from Aariyah for the assist her 2nd of the season and a wonderful finish from Hollie for her 4th goal of the season.
In the 69th minute Alexa, not wanting to be left out of the action in typical fashion burst forward with a drive into the middle and whilst the Goring defender put in a strong challenge, Alexa was not in the mood to be stopped and still kept going, and even with another defender closing at pace, Alexa muscled off her shot low into the back of the nets to make it an even dozen and her 3rd goal of the season.
12 NIL to Ascot United Diamonds and Goring left to face a sobering journey back home
Opposition player of the match was Amira for scoring a “Glut” which is the English term for five goals or a “double poker” which is the Spanish term for five goals since a “poker” represents four as well as a 22 minute hat trick
Coaches player of the match was tough on a day like this, but one player really stood out for totally unselfish play in the midfield and that was Kitty
It was a day that saw Goals from six different players
