An historic night at the racecourse ground as Ascot veterans played an over 60s team for the first time against a Farnham & District league team.
Ascots squad included two 70+ players Steve Brine & Doug Page and two former vets managers Andy Mellor and Kenny Wilson.
It was an entertaining game throughout but there was an early hold up in play when a Farnham player injured his Achilles.
Man of the match had to be the Farnham keeper who pulled off a number of outstanding saves throughout the game.
Farnham scored first but Zak Dimitrovski got the equaliser after some great build up play, rounding the keeper and slotting home.
Barry Harcourt then put Ascot in front with a close range header, but Farnham drew level with a long range effort. They went ahead again after the ball came back off the crossbar and fell kindly for their player to tap in.
Ascot pilled on the pressure to get an equaliser right to the end but that Farnham keeper was there to stop that happening.
Overall a great evening played in the right spirit throughout and well refereed.
