Ascot United welcome Ashford Town (Middx) to The Racecourse during midweek, as Tuesday night league action returns. The visitors have hit a poor run of form with just one point from their last six games, although will no doubt be looking to repeat their victory in the reverse fixture last year – nicking a 2-1 win after The Yellamen had equalised and were in the ascendancy.

Last Sunday, Ascot United Women finally saw off dogged league rivals Warminster Town in the league cup. The Yellawomen won the tie 5-4 on penalties after being pegged back twice by their visitors in where the score ended 4-4. Sarah Leonard and Katie Vince had given the hosts a 2-0 lead before Town cut the lead, although Leonard made it 3-1 in the second half. Two goals in three minutes brought the visitors level for the first time, and although Georgia Luckhurst-McCord headed in from a corner the never-say-die away side levelled it again in added time. However, the holders held their nerve in the shoot-out to advance, having repeated the trick in the previous round at Woking.
