Ascot United v Wycombe Wanderers preview

Ascot United will welcome Wycombe Wanderers to the Racecourse on Sunday 12th of March for their SRWF League Cup semi-final tie with a kick off of 2pm.

The Yellas kicked off their cup campaign on December beating Woodley United at home to secure a 4-0 victory, with goals from Tiff Skinner, Izzy Woods and a brace from top goalscorer Nicole Brown. Next up, a trip to league rivals Abingdon United, a tough away tie but a 2-1 win with both goals coming from Hayley Cruickshank. They cruised through their quarterfinal tie against Eversley & California registering a 7-0 victory over the Hampshire side with seven different goalscorers in Claire Couzens, Philippa Holden, Izzy Woods, Nicole Brown, Tiff Skinner, Nicole Brown and Hayley Cruickshank.

Ascot will look to secure their place in the final off the back of a 5-2 league win against Winchester City Flyers with a goal from Izzy Woods and four from Nicole Brown securing her spot as the Yellas top goalscorer at Tier 5. Meanwhile, Wycombe sit sixth of eight in the same division, having played Ascot twice already this season, drawing one-all at the Racecourse in October and falling to a 5-1 defeat when the Yellas headed to Burnham. 

Elsewhere, Winchester City Flyers host Bournemouth Sports, Rushmoor Community head to Eastleigh in the Community and Abingdon United head to Penn & Tyler’s Green.
