Yellamen and Yellawomen both face big games
Ascot United head to Kingstonian (Raynes Park Vale FC) on Saturday looking for the point that will guarantee them a place in the end-of season play-offs. With Ascot in 3rd and The K’s in 5th, Jamie Tompkins’ side know that a draw will be good enough to reach the end of season knockout phase.
But, the home side are looking over their own shoulders and know that if 6th-placed Hayes & Yeading – who travel to 15th placed South Park – better their result, then they may themselves drop out of the play-offs, unless Hanworth Villa somehow lose at home against 17-placed Horndean. As a result, the home side will likely be gunning for a win, and if that happens then Ascot will hope either Hanworth Villa or Hayes & Yeading lose.
Kingstonian found form at the right time having won their last two games following a dismal sequence of results, although Ascot have not conceded a goal in their last five matches stretching back over one month, a record for them at this level.

On Sunday, Ascot United Women travel to Scours Lane, Reading City, for their League Cup Final with Winchester City (3pm). Having recorded a league double over City this season, Andy Cox’s side are favourites to add the trophy to their league title, but City have improved dramatically and come into the game on a seven-game unbeaten streak and finished 5th in the ten-team SRWFL.
The match will be the final game of the season for Ascot, who will then take a long break before their historic Step-four National League Campaign begins in the Summer.
