Yellamen look to maintain play-off push against out-of-form Villains
THIRD-PLACED Ascot United return to league action after their midweek county cup action with the visit of Hanworth Villa on Saturday (3pm). The Yellamen, who are in fine form in the league, will face a stern rest against a Villa side currently prowling just below the play-off zone, and they know that a win, coupled with results elsewhere, could propel them back into the top five.
That said, the Villains’ recent form has taken a dip – only one win in their last six against basement side Badshot Lea – and four points from those outings has dented their recent push. Conceding goals has also been a problem with seventeen leaked in those matches, but they will no doubt pose a threat.

Elsewhere there are some tasty fixtures with a basement battle between Badshot Lea and Ashford Town, whereas Kingstonian (2nd) entertain Leatherhead (12th), Hartley Wintney (6th) welcome Harrow Borough (10th) and Uxbridge (4th) – who slipped to defeat midweek – entertain Raynes Park Vale (8th). Form team Moneyfields, who have won their last six league games, are now just three points off the play-offs and could sneak into 5th with a win at Southall, although results elsewhere and a big swing in goal difference would need to come into play.
On Sunday, Ascot United Women’s Reserves play Chesham United Development with a blank weekend for the first team.
