Warriors secure win in their first friendly as the Yellas!

#WeAreAscot

Ascot United Warriors won 7 – 5 against St Albans Special Olympics team in their first friendly as the Yellas on Sunday 26th March. Donna Molyneux reports on the game for us.

Warriors captain Brett Edge scored 4 wonderful goals the first from the half way line! Jack Healey scored 2 strong goals and in the dying minutes Nick Leibold scored a goal in the penalty area. Jack Lumsden our goalkeeper was under bombardment from a very strong St Albans team. Despite an injury, he was still in good spirits throughout.

The team were an absolute credit to themselves in this their first ever game against another Special Olympics team. They were friendly and chatty with the other team and we all ended the day very proud of these two sides having played the first of what will hopefully be a regular fixture of friendly games.

The boys proudly wore their Ascot Racecourse Supports strip and were a credit to Ascot United and our sponsors at the Racecourse.

Up the Yellas!
