Doug joined Ascot United in 1992, coaching  both his sons as the club embarked on 7 a side football for  5/6 year olds for first time, one of Chairman Keith Wicks merry men. Keith formed the EBFL now known as EBFA that season. Doug went on to complete his  FA Prelim. coaching badge later that year, running a boys team for the next 11 years with co-manager Dick Cleverley.He joined the football executive in 1993 and became Vice Chairman for seven years and Chairman in season 2002/3, subsequently carrying on as a club officer/ director in the Mike Harrison era to this day.He also played in the newly re-formed Ascot United men’s team from 1993 to 2002, captaining and winning the Ascot Fielden Charity Cup in 1996 Vs Chippenham Utd at Larges Lane, Bracknell.Now still enjoys training and having a run out with the Vets.Main responsibilities are commercial, procurement and following up sponsorship opportunities.After a career in Freight forwarding/logistics, running his own company, he is now retired. Married to wife Gerry he supports Tottenham as well as Ascot United.
