The Royals were joined by Louis Bouwers for their early Kick Off at Goaters Road against the Sharks. Even the presence of our First Team Captain wasn’t quite enough to inspire a quick start from the Home Team and it was NPL that took the early lead with 2 goals in the first 10 minutes.
On 24 minutes, Isaac Thornton picked up the ball on the left, cut inside his man and let fly with a curling right footed shot that beat the diving NPL Keeper to end up in the top right corner of the net.
Royals were unable to capitalise on this great strike and conceded within 3 minutes from the restart as NPL scored with a lob from the left side that beat Royals Keeper, Lewis Jones.
In the second half Royals dominated the play, created 3 or 4 great chances that just didn’t convert. On another day the Royals front men would have buried these, it just wasn’t to be.
For the second week running, MOTM went to Peter Masini for a great defensive performance, tremendous work rate and solid tackling. Well done Peter.
