Dan Birchmore: Ascot United Club Secretary

#WeAreAscot

As many of you may know, the role of the Club Secretary at any sports club is one of the hardest… to be Club Secretary at what is one of the largest grassroots football club in the country makes it almost impossible… to be that Club Secretary as a volunteer and run your own career alongside it requires a superman.  We have been lucky to have our superman for the past few years in Dan Birchmore but he has decided it’s time to take a well-earned rest and will be stepping down at the end of the season.

He has been much more than “just” a Club Secretary and is one of the go-to people at the club when someone needs support in any way.  Hiring and then driving a mini-bus full of supporters to our game in Manchester last weekend is an example of where he goes over and above.

Thank you Dan for all you have done, and there will always be a Guinness waiting for you at the bar.  We are working on plans to cover this role and we hope to confirm those over the coming weeks.
