ASCOT SHOW THEIR WARES AS GRAY REACHES TON

#WeAreAscot.

Ascot goalkeeper Sam Gray celebrated his 100th appearance for Ascot United on Saturday in a remarkable 4-2 comeback victory at Edgware Town Trailing 2-0 after just twelve minutes, The Yellamen were level before half time and added two further goals to climb to eighth in the league with games in hand on all those above them.

But it looked bad for them early on when Novell Sony-Bruce opened the scoring for The Wares before Theo Ofori doubled the lead a few minutes later.

After both sides traded chances, Harry Laflin cut the deficit – maintaining his goal-a-game strike rate – with an excellent goal from Jonny Denton’s cross after 37 minutes. However, it was defender and captain Dan Bailey who stole the show with a fantastic effort three minutes before the break to level the scores at half time.

Gray would deny Sony-Bruce in the 51st minute, but after that Ascot yielded the sword as Keaton August snook one home in the 55th minute and Taylor Morgan netted a crucial fourth midway through the half.

And, that is how it stayed to ensure Ascot’s fine run of form continued.

Ascot United: Gray, Lock, Surpanu, Harper, Bailey, Ferguson, McCormack, Denton, Morgan (Nortey), Laflin, August (Hamid). Subs unused: Walden, Sykes, Ellis
