Ascot United Ladies powered into the Vitality Women’s FA Cup First Round Proper with a 5-0 win over fellow tier-5 outfit AFC Acorns on Sunday.

The match was billed as a Battle of the [Killick]-Birds as Sarah – defender for Ascot – came up against sister Ellie – winger for Acorns.

Ascot were a goal to the good at half time; Hayley Cruickshanks heading home from Sarah Davern’s corner in the 26th minute.

Dom Carrington’s solo effort doubled the lead shortly after half time, before Nicole Brown put the tie beyond Acorns when she capitalized to make it 3-0.

Hannah Bennett’s long range effort made it 4-0 and Georgia Luckhurst-McCord sealed a five star win late-on by converting a rebound from Amelia Kimble’s header which was saved; The Yellawomen comfortably in the hat for Monday’s draw.

Ties for the first round proper will take place on Sunday 13th November.
