Ascot United comfortably saw off Longlevens on Saturday as top-scorer Nathan Minhas signed off in yellow and blue.

The Yellamen were two-nil up after an entertaining first half – goals from Bouwers and Kassim doing the damage – before a largely uneventful second half. Match report here.

The Yellamen will head into 2019 well-positioned in second place, underpinned by Minhas’s 30-goal haul from 32 outings. Minhas will now link up with Vanarama National League South Billiericay Town for the start of 2019, and leaves with the best wishes and thanks from everyone at The Racecourse. Let’s not forget this is a talented young striker who scored three hat-tricks before the final week of August had even begun!!! Minhas also came agonisingly close to a send-off goal today, only to be thwarted by a post, but he has proved in his short tenure that he is as adept as an unselfish playmaker and is surely destined for great things.
