Ascot United Ladies Playing a Title Waiting Game
Ascot United Ladies completed their League fixtures last weekend with a 4-2 away win against Oxford City Nomads which guarantees the Ladies at least a top 2 spot in the table. The Ladies started the season with 3 straight league defeats but have since remained unbeaten in the league and now sit top of the Southern Region WFL Divison One, 7 points clear of their nearest rivals.

New Milton Town are the only team able to overhaul the Yellas points total. The Linnets have 3 away games left to play and 3 wins will see the New Forest based side go up as Champions, or 2 wins and a draw will bring the teams level on points but our Ladies currently have a 9 goal better goal difference.

United will have to play the waiting game and may have to wait until the 14th May to Know their fate when New Milton play their final game of the season away to Barton Rovers.

Whatever happens in the coming weeks it has been a fantastic season for Ascot United Ladies. Only the League Champions are guaranteed promotion although depending on the League’s structure next season 2nd place may be offered promotion. Let’s hope the team finish as Champions or at least have done enough to secure promotion to the Southern Region WFL Premier League and bring winter step 3 of the Women’s football pyramid to the Racecourse next season.
