Ascot United welcome Longlevens AFC back to the Racecourse this Saturday for a Bluefin Sports Challenge Cup Quarter Final tie. The game is also ‘pay what you want’ for spectators, as reported here earlier this week, which essentially means you can come and watch for free and get a programme for a small donation! (Image is Jamie and Aaron's reaction to hearing of this amazing offer!!!...)

’Levens were last in town two weeks ago when they lost 2-0 in the league. Since then, the draw for the separate Floodlit Cup has been made, and you guessed it – they will come to us for a third time later this season if they see off Langley in their pending tie.

Despite being at opposite ends of the league table, the cup will be a welcome distraction for both sides and Ascot are looking for a first win in three having taken just one point from their past two outings. With a semi-final place at stake, the stakes are increasing!

Elsewhere this weekend, the unbeaten Development side travel to Westfield (Saturday, 3pm) in what is a six-pointer. Westfield and Ascot are first and second with 24 points each, but the Yellamen have three games in hand and will leapfrog the Woking-based side with a win. The Devs brushed aside Fleet Spurs during midweek (3-0), with a match report now online.

On Sunday, there is no match for Ascot Ladies (firsts), but the Ladies Development Side entertain struggling Yateley United at Goaters Road at their league programme continues.

You’ll also see news of the 3G pitch planning application approval here on the website in what has been a busy and exciting week for the club.

And, this leads nicely into our final story. Congratulations to James Richardson. Our Under 18 Allied team’s star has been selected for the England Schoolboys side to face Australia at Stafford Town FC on Saturday 26th January (2pm) after impressing during the recent trials.
