The Ladies Best Season Ever
I'm guessing you all know the score today but if not New Milton scored with 7 minutes left to beat Barton Rovers 2-1 and snatch the title from us.

I was at the game and its no consolation but it was 1-1 at half time New Milton went ahead deservedly on 30 mins and Barton leveled on 8 minutes later. New Milton's keeper made 3 good saves in the 2nd half to keep them in the game and Miltons second goal was their only shot in the 2nd half.

After last season's disapointment and this season being a rebuilding season and then losing our first 3 league fixtures, to be 7 minutes away from winning the league has been an incredible achievement from everyone involved with the team. It has been Ascot United Ladies highest ever finish on the football pyramid.

Unbeaten in the league for 15 games and still counting going into next season, unbeaten at home in the League.Top scorers in the League with 64 goals, 12 more than second highest scorers Barton Rovers. Two players in the top 3 of the Leagues top scorers list and 4 players in the top 10. We conceded 19 goals in our first 3 league games and then went on to concede 18 in our last 15 league games, wipe those first 3 results and we had the best defence in the league.

And it's not their fault but 3 teams never turned up to New Milton's games so they were handed 9 points so we did win the most points in the league on the pitch. We also won our first Women's FA Cup game this season winning 450 for the club. (and we made it to the final as spectators)

Congratulations to you all it was a rebuilding season for the team and in my view by the end of the season we had the best squad by a mile in the league, All the teams around the top of the table tried to stop our unbeaten run and all failed. As it stands we will remain in Division One next season but depending on the structure of the League we are the next team in line to be promoted if a space opens up in the premier league, we will just have to watch this space for now. I hope like me you are all disaspointed we didnt quite get over the finish line but are proud of our achievements this season.

I would just like to thank all the players for their contribution this season, no matter if you think you played a small part or big part as Manager of the team i can honestley say every player had a contribution that had an impact on the team to help us get to the stats mentioned earlier. I hope you all have the hunger and determination to go that one step further next season and get what is rightfully yours.

Enjoy a few weeks off, please get the renewal forms and fee's sent in as early as possible if you have not already and we start again in June for a bit of summer football
