MONDAY NEWS: FANS REACT TO WANTAGE WIN
Following last Saturday’s 1-0 cup semi-final win over Wantage Town, Ascot United’s followers were quick to celebrate the achievement.

Director of Football Neil Richards said:

“A deserved win in the end against high quality opposition. The commitment and attitude of the playing squad and management team shown this season richly deserves a cup final and opportunity to lift a trophy.”

Superfan and season ticket holder Lydia Baker said:

“I'm still buzzing, grinning from ear to ear so for what it's worth I'd say it was a thoroughly deserved win in a hard fought match. The mighty Ascot was too much for the Wantage to bear!!!!”

Director and Veterans Team stalwart Doug Page said:

"Gutsy performance earns yellamen deserved Challenge Cup final place.”

Web administrator, fan and match reporter Neal Jeffs said:

“Tremendous shift from 1 to 11. Buzzing for a May cup final again and to get there seeing off quality opposition with a clean sheet is something special.”

Whilst the final is a local derby against Windsor on Bank Holiday Monday 6th May, both sides are currently contemplating the 120 mile round trip to Ardley FC’s Nolan Oils Ground just off the M40 at junction 10; this being the venue currently selected to host the final.

In other news, the Allied U18 side at in action tonight (Monday) as 2nd v 3rd go head to head with the visit of Hanworth Villa.
