Captain Louis Bouwers scored, hit a post, and was involved as the home side conceded an own-goal as Ascot United won 3-1 at Virginia Water on Tuesday. The result lifted Ascot back into second, ensured the Yellamen took 12 points off Stag Meadow’s landlords and tenants this season, and extended top scorer Nathan Minhas’s scoring run to eight matches on the trot. Bouwers will hopefully have got over not being awarded the ‘own goal’ despite being at least 287 yards away from the ball at the point of contact…
Bouwers was man-of-the match as Ascot made it four wins on the spin – next up lie Fairford this weekend at The Course.
